PEERS® Social Skills Groups

The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS®) is an evidence-based social skills program that helps young people learning the skills for making and maintaining friendships. It was first developed at UCLA by Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson and is now used in over 150 countries across the globe, including at Mission Pediatrics in Ghana. It is ideal for young people who struggle socially.

Dr. Kristine Marbell-Pierre, the head of our Psychology Department, is a PEERS® certified provider.

What are the participation requirements?

  • Friendship problems
  • Upper Primary or Secondary School age
  • Commitment and consistent attendance at all sessions
  • One parent/caregiver is willing to be involved as a social coach

When do groups meet?

  • Saturdays, 9:00 to 10:30 am
  • Duration: 14 weeks
