Mission Pediatrics Partners with Albert’s Haven and Okere District Health Directorate.

Okere District, October 24, 2025 — Mission Pediatrics, in collaboration with Albert’s Haven and the Okere District Health Directorate, organized a community mental health awareness talk to mark the end of Mental Health Awareness Month.

The event, held on Friday, October 24, brought together key stakeholders, including parents, educators, health professionals, and community members, to discuss the importance of mental health and ways to promote emotional well-being within families and society.

Delivering the keynote presentation, Dr. Esther Yesutor Agbozo, a medical doctor and mental health advocate from Mission Pediatrics, addressed critical issues surrounding mental health stigma, early detection, and the need for community support. She emphasized the importance of early intervention and encouraged participants to prioritize open dialogue about mental well-being, especially among children and adolescents.

“Mental health is just as important as physical health,” Dr. Agbozo noted. “We must create safe spaces where people can express themselves freely and seek help without shame or fear.”

The program provided participants with practical tools for identifying early signs of mental distress and managing stress effectively. Representatives from the Okere District Health Directorate and Albert’s Haven also shared insights on local initiatives and collaborative efforts to strengthen mental health advocacy in the district.

This initiative forms part of Mission Pediatrics’ 10th Anniversary Community Engagement activities, highlighting the organization’s continued commitment to advancing holistic healthcare and supporting families through education, outreach, and preventive health interventions.
